We’re back again with Marc reviews gifts he’s gotten.
I doubt my mother in law had that in mind when she got me these gloves for Christmas. That being said, this review is not in any way sponsored or paid for by 100%.
I like these gloves! They work really well for their purpose, which is “cold weather mountain biking” — in places that don’t really get much winter.
I treat them more like a “deep shoulder season” glove, and use something else if it’s really cold and I just hafta ride (and don’t wanna do a trainer session watching The Mandalorian).
They’re constructed really nicely, with high quality seams, and they really don’t feel like they’re going to fall apart — even after a few seasons of riding. Since they are a mountain bike glove, there is no padding or insulation on the palm. Most MTBs have softer grips than road bikes so keep that in mind. The neoprene backing however does keep the wind and damp away from your hands, which is really nice in the PNW winters we get up here.
I have used these gloves on a drop-bar bike and did notice that they were a bit less comfy than I would like, but that was my own damn fault for not using them for their exact intended purpose.
Now if it is really cold and I simply must ride, I’ll go pick a pair of gloves that is specifically for winter riding. I actually use a pair of work gloves my step brother gave me from his time in the oil-patch for the colder days. Or if the ride is short enough I’ll use the Briskers. All depends on how I’m feeling.
I have the black ones with reflective logos on the backs. I’m not one for flash, so this colourway is great for me. That being said there are plenty of hi-vis and bright neons if you’re into that shit.
