Bob is a big fan of the site.

He’s also my father-in-law, and when Kristen and I got a chance to go visit for the first time in two years we jumped at it.

Bob and Sue (Kristen’s mom) live in Sherwood Park, and there’s a great little cycle path from their town to the nearby Fort Saskatchewan. We went for a bit of a ride, saw some goats and ate blue ice cream. We also stopped at the historic Fort Saskatchewan, where we took these pics.

Bob used to have a different bike, but that was stolen out of his lab at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. It was a bummer, but his co-workers came to the rescue, putting together some money to get Bob a new bike. This Giant Roam was his consolation.

Tricked out with a small frame bag, rack, new saddle and grips, this is dialed in to Bob’s personal specifications.

He’s used it well over the past few years for a few ballyhoos down trails, some longer distance exploration rides and even taken it into the mountains in Alberta.

Thanks for the ride Bub and Sue!
