Springtime means maintenance season. I’ve been diving into the work hard this year, but the nice thing about knowing my way around a bike is that I can do small fixes incrementally as they come up.
The touring bike got a new chain and a good cleaning. I also plan on taking the fenders off once the rain stops for good, and possibly getting some new bar tape if I decide it’s necessarily.
The road bike is the proud new owner of brake pads that aren’t ten years old and might get some new summer tires to add suppleness.
The mountain bike will have the biggest change, a multi-speed drivetrain is coming (I know) because where I live has far too many hills for a single speed set up. I want to be able to ride it up hills. It also has clipless pedals now and we’ll see how they are. The jury is still out on them.
