Time for some more details about the 2022 Dirtbag Cycles Rambler.

We are planning a 87.5 km mixed surface gravel ramble ride in the Comox Valley. The event is going to be a big old ride starting at Cumberland Lake at 11 a.m. on August 27. 2022. Based on my Komoot info, it’s 30.5 km unpaved, and the rest paved or “unknown.” A bunch of single track, some trails, some paths, some roads, and 620 metres of elevation gain.

More info on the route here.

It’ll be a big day in the saddle, but we are doing a no-drop, party pace ride and will be waiting for people at certain spots. If you’re not feeling the big climb, you can chill by a nice waterfall until the group comes back around. The idea is we get to hang out together and not to do it as quickly as possible. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for photos, swimmin’ holes and having a good time.

You’ll get to see forest, mountains, fields, creeks, rivers, lakes, the ocean, some ruins, some urban stuff, and it’ll all end at a taco place in Cumberland.

This is an inclusive safe space event and everyone is welcome. We are also asking people to be COVID-19 safe, wear masks when near others to keep socially distant. Odds are good we’re not going to be endemic by the time we get going, so let’s keep each other safe, yeah?

There’ll be some really good photographers at the event, so we should have some good bike portrait opportunities by the lake.

Originally the goal was to camp out together, but group sites were gone really quickly. However there are still lots of individual sites available at Cumberland Lake Campground. Other campgrounds in the area are open as well.

There’ll be some swag available to folks who come out as well!

Sign up sheets, waivers and other details to come.

Ummm besides that just keep checking back for more details.

Oh yeah! We made a playlist too. Check it out, it’ll help set the vibes.

We’re excited to see y’all come out!
